Meet Midge: The World's Smallest Police Dog

The world's smallest dog used for law enforcement according to Guinness World Records is Midge, a Chihuahua-rat terrier cross measuring 28cm tall and 58cm long. Midge works as an official Police K9 with her owner Sheriff Dan McClelland at Geauga County Sheriff’s Office in Chardon, Ohio, USA. McClelland began training Midge for drug-detecting duties when she was just 3 months old, after reading about departments being sued by suspects whose cars or homes were damaged by larger dogs.

Watched this video to see her in action.

Highest Bounty on a Dog is On Agata

Most of us would get a dog as a house pet or a guard dog, so possible thieves would think twice about getting inside our homes. They fear of easily getting caught, while in Columbia drug sindicates fear of one dog. A five year old that's got some notorious enemies.

Agata in action

In 2004, a bounty of $10,000 was placed on Agata, a female golden Labrador who is one of Columbia’s top drug-sniffer dogs, making her a Guinness title holder for the Highest Bounty on a Dog. The bounty was raised by drug traffickers following a very successful string of detections. Agata's daily duties include sniffing out 5 cargo planes and one passenger flight. She began her career in 2003 and since then has helped track down 300 kilos (660 pounds) of cocaine and 20 kilos (44 pounds) of heroine. She has been decorated by the police force for her work in the field.

Police intercepted a message from drug traffickers outlining plans to poison the golden Labrador retriever. Luckily, Agata has a 24 hour bodyguard who check son her food for poison.

The Big Bad Parvo Attack on Our New Labrador Pup

(This particular event happened 5 months ago.)

She sports a caramel colored skin, anxious eyes but in ready to defend state, eats like a king, barks when being photographed, but just like any other dog, she loves to be pet.  These I've come to know of during the first 2 days Silva was at home, her new home.

My brother have always wanted a guard dog that's why he really saved to buy a labrador pup. Jewel seems to be the always sweet princess-y kind and my brother yearns to own a real watch dog, the brave and sporty kind so he decided to purchase a labrador pup from a friend's friend who breeds and sells dogs. For the price of Php3500, he finally got one at 2 months old and named her Silva, inspired from the famous Mixed Martial Arts sport fighter of which he is a big fan of. As Jewel seems to be more of a house pet, a partner guard dog is a good option for our family's security. And so one good weekday morning...

Jewel Finally Meets Silva

when 2 year old spitz meets 2 month old lab

Silva was brought to the garden from inside a dog cage. We were all excited as to how our spitz would react  and welcome our new pup. Jewel sniffed around her as it's the very first time she saw another dog inside the lot. Both didn't bark at one another, just curious.

A Dog's Garden Playground

It's been more than a month since my last update. I've been having some great time now that's Jewel stays inside the house. She's well trained and we give her bath twice a week. One thing I so like about my pet spitz is that she's so finesse for a dog. She sure barks from time to time especially if she sees cats lurking near the gate. As much as we enjoy cuddling with her, we see to it that she gets her time outside the garden for some good doggie exercise. She runs, she sniffs, she loves lying on the grass like it's her personal comfort bed.
