The Arrival of a New Puppy

the 2 months old sleeping spitz
As soon as my uncle parked the car, I saw this little white dog inside a dog's cage at the back of the pick up car. Uncle opened the cage and I excitedly placed her unto my arms like a new proud pet owner. Finally a much needed dog in the house!

It has been 10 long years since our last dog passed away. He died when he was about 10 years old due to I guess old age, same goes with our other dog. Below is a family treasured scanned photo of Bronzon (black dog) and Guard (white dog). They've both served our family faithfully as guard dogs. They now lay at a vacant lot beside our house, together with my cousin's full bred Japanese Spitz.

Bronzon and Guard
Day 1

Jewel is a name given by my aunt Lily since the puppy stayed with them for a couple of weeks before she was finally handed to us. The name Jewel is just perfect. Below are some photos of Jewel taken during her very first day in the house. Unlike those regular full bred cute looking fluffy spitz, Jewel for months looked like a half rat-half pig doggie! I mean with all honesty, just look at her - she has the ears of a rat and the nose of a pig! Haha! She doesn't have the baby dog face look that will make everyone say "Awww..."

But I guess love is blind. I wanted to make the relationship work :)

here's Jewel playing with her first pink toy

Just hours after the little dog arrived, I tagged my sister Hannah to the mall to buy a pack of dog food, dog leash, a pink doggie dress (which she never got to wear) as well as a pink toy (as seen above). This dog's hyper, she wasn't just running inside the whole house, she was hopping!

But what's so cool about this dog was the fact that she was in her best possible behavior during her first night with us. We just left her downstairs without a leash to sleep while most of us slept upstairs. She slept right infront of the master's bedroom, laying cool and quiet like a faithful guard dog :) Welcome to your new home Jewel!
